Sales Channel Revenue/Finance Support Analysts - Reading, Berkshire
The roles:
Own data reporting for the Channel Revenue Planning team. Namely, the provision of several standard data reports out of our various systems, on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Own the provision of all ad hoc data reporting for the Channel Revenue Planning Team (as requested by the Analysts and Manager), and for the Sales account teams
Own the collection of information from account teams regarding the launch plans for future new products from the account teams, and using a standard data model convert this into a detailed volume forecast and load it into the system
Work with the Revenue Analysts regarding performance expectation of future commercial initiatives, and convert this into a detailed volume forecast and load it into the system.
Take primary responsibility for managing and reporting the accrual balances for past promotions (particularly from previous financial years), ensuring that system balances are accurate and account teams are billing invoices against them in a timely manner.
Liaise with the invoice processing team to ensure accurate and timely transactions are made, resolving the inevitable issues that will arise.
Ensure the correct accrual transactions are made in our financial systems at the financial month end.
Support the Revenue Analysts in the task of allocating historical volume to underlying sales or promotional uplift (‘actualisation’), by providing standard data reports and undertaking some of the basic analysis
.Be the system administrator for our forecasting system. On a day-to-day basis update user access permissions, add new product and customer details, ensure standing data (e.g. on prices) matches our other systems, take copies of the database to use as fixed point-in-time views, etc
The people:·
Very strong academics, preferably biased towards numerical/science subjects
· Degree or equivalent), preferably in a numerate/science subject
· Possibly postgraduate finance or research qualifications
Candidates may come from the following but not limited to backgrounds
· Experience working in a:
Management consultancy (preferably a strategic consultancy where data analysis forms a key role) Big accountancy firm Analytical/systems role in a quantitative research company (i.e. used to working with numbers and drawing conclusions from them)
Retailer (in a role with a lot of systems and data management)· ….
or we could just fit a very bright graduate with a placement experience into this role
· Strong general systems skills, or at least the underlying attributes that mean they can be developed quickly – technical bias, logical thinker, inclination
· Thoroughness (attention to detail, accuracy of work)
· Personal organisation Very good data analysis skills
