Job Title:		Tax Planning Manager

Description:		Tax Planning Manager - Reading, Berkshire The role: Working cross-functionally, identify tax planning opportunities for both direct and indirect taxes and develop and execute a tax planning strategy to deliver financial benefits Responsible for UK direct and indirect tax planning across all PI UK businesses. Support BUs on all tax aspects of the business. This would include advice on new ventures, disposals, restructurings, capex and other ad hoc advice. Manage overall UK group tax position, including group relief. Provide technical tax support for UK aspects of SwissCo. Manage UK tax audits on all direct and indirect taxes. Liaise with Corporate Tax on all the above, who will also offer the necessary support. Manage PIUK tax planning relationships with third parties (e.g., PwC) Develop overall tax planning strategy with direct manager support Identify and action tax planning opportunities directly with business functions Utilise technical expertise with minimal oversight from direct manager on a day-to-day basis Lead setting tax planning agenda and alignment with Corporate Tax The person: Tax specialist with a strong corporate tax experience, gained with a commercial organisation or a premier accounting or legal firm Degree educated or equivalent with a strong academic record ACCA qualified or equivalent In-depth technical knowledge and experience to be able to direct tax planning agenda Strong communicator, capable of influencing senior management and external advisors Self-starter, proactive approach Flexibility to successfully handle change and work across all areas of the UK business
