We are an innovative company that develops semi-bespoke software for the real estate management sector. Our clients include leading property firms as well as B2B organisations. While our solutions are largely (Linux Java Tomcat based) web applications, we occasionally produce desktop based applications too. The primary programming language that we use is Java. Due to anticipated growth, we require a highly motivated, hardworking Business Systems Analyst. This role requires a person with excellent communication skills, a logical mind and outstanding analyst skills such as process design.
The successful Graduate Business Systems Analyst can expect to receive one month training, working on live projects and, ongoing support thereafter. Our work culture is mostly informal and very friendly. The successful candidate will be given responsibility and independence to make their own decisions and be creative. Being a small organisation the candidate will receive a holistic view of the entire life cycle of a project or projects. Due to its continued growth, there is vast potential for rapid career progression. The anticipated responsibilities for this role include:
1. liaising extensively with clients and sometimes their suppliers
2. identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability
3. creating logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
4. drawing up specific proposals/specifications for modified or replacement applications
5. presenting proposals to clients
6. presenting the state of development or maintenance issues to clients or in-house staff
7. working closely with developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
8. ensuring that deadlines are met
9. implementing testing routines and new testing methods
10. drawing up testing schedules for applications
11. planning and working flexibly to a deadline
12. writing user manuals
13. providing training to users
14. keeping up to date with technical as well as industry sector developments
Required Skills: The minimum requirements for this role are: BSc in Information Systems or degrees with business analysis modules or equivalent Good understanding of object orientated programming and analysis (especially UML) Good understanding of development, testing and training methodologies Eligible to work in the UK for at least two years starting 01 August 2007 Excellent spoken and written English Willing and able to start in August
Desirable: Experience in a software house will be beneficial Experience of testing tools
