Assistant Household Underwriter - Part-time - Kent Up to £9,000
Knowledge and Skills:
A working knowledge of household and high net worth underwriting.
Good communication skills both written and oral.
FIT exam or progression towards.
Minimum 3 years experience within an underwriting environment.
Job Specification: (Main Responsibilities)
Provide quotations in accordance with Company guidelines and criteria and within limits of authority. To accurately input data within defined time scales.
Ensure a full working knowledge of products is achieved and maintained.
To underwrite and manage own portfolio of work in accordance with agreed service and technical standards
Ensure that all verbal/written complaints are dealt with promptly and referred to the Controller as appropriate.
Prove own technical competence in accordance with the FSA training and competency framework Jan 2005.
Provide technical assistance and guidance on underwriting matters to the staff.
Refer cases above normal authority levels making recommendations as necessary.
Liaise with claims department to resolve queries.
Interpret loss Adjusters reports and make necessary risk improvement recommendations as necessary.
