Description:Actuary - Surrey Actuary - Reserving & Capital Actuary - Surrey - up to £60,000 Our client requires an actuary to join their Reserving and Capital division. Knowledge and Skills: Experience of UK insurance market Technical strength Up to date knowledge and technical strength in UK financial reporting and embedded value Life protection market experience DFA / Stochastic / capital modelling experience MoSes programming expertise General insurance experience Creditor insurance experience Job Specification: (Main Responsibilities) Reserving Quarterly valuation reporting Production of FSA valuation results, forecasts and FSA returns Review of assumptions and methodology Valuation, Embedded Value, Model Office systems System design and development System maintenance testing and sign off Experience Monitoring Mortality, morbidity, withdrawal and expense investigations Exposed to risk measurement Risk factor correlation Reserving and realistic basis input Capital Monitoring Solvency Margin reporting Capital Adequacy Financial Projections Life and general insurance ICA modelling Shareholder Value Embedded value calculations (traditional &EEV) Legislation Adherence and interpretation of FSA Regulations Adherence and interpretation of BAS Actuarial Guidance Notes Provision of training Development of actuarial and non- actuarial staff as required Person Specification: Able to communicate opinion and analysis on complicated issues to management across multiple disciplines in a variety of media Able to work on own as well as within a team Possessing excellent personal planning and organisational skills Show initiative in applying good problem solving and analytical skills Self reliant Focused and enthusiastic Inquisitive, accurate and thorough with a keen eye for details Customer service orientated Adaptable
