Travel Claims Handler - West Sussex - up to £20,000
To assess and settle travel insurance claims quickly and efficiently whilst providing an
excellent level of customer service.
Main responsibilities
Handling all claims right through from first advice to final settlement
Applying specialist knowledge, skills and appropriate behaviours to achieve a successful outcome
Investigating, negotiating and settling claims within an agreed authority level
Accurately recording claims data and progress
Communicating decisions to customers and providing a clear and understandable explanation with regards to (a) reasons for refusal/rejection or (b) how any settlement figure is calculated
Arranging claims payment
Proactively identifying any fraudulent cases and assessing the recovery potential
Qualifications/Education
-A good general standard of education; GCSE’s or equivalent
Experience
-Ideally some experience in handling/assessing
claims although full training will be provided
Knowledge/Skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Numerate and possessing relevant PC skills – Word &
- Outlook (essential), Excel (desirable)
- Able to strike a balance between demonstrating empathy with the customer whilst conscious of the need to settle claims in accordance with policy wording/conditions
- An effective team worker and demonstrates the ability to take responsibility for resolving issues/problems
-Good attention to detail and able to work accurately
to meet strict deadlines.

Hours of work
35 hours per week covering a shift pattern that operates from 8.00am – 6.00 pm Monday to
Friday and 8.00 am – 4.00 pm Saturday
