Accountant - Finance Group Services - Heston, Middlesex
We are currently recruiting for an Accountant (Finance Group Services) to join a Heston based organisation. You will be required to take responsibility for the preparation of the shared services accounts and recharges to the Products and Services Divisions. To assist in the preparation of the consolidated accounts, Group cash flow forecasting, PLC reporting and liaising with divisional accounting staff on timetables and reporting, share services processes and the rationalisation of work on tax and accounting requirements through simplification of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded within the accounts of the share services Company.
Responsible for the preparation of accruals, prepayments, depreciation values within Axapta and ensuring fixed asset module is operated correctly.
Responsible for ensuring management accounts files are maintained to support all balance sheet accounts and include an analysis of the profit and loss accounts.
Responsible for ensuring inter-company balances agree with other group entities.
Responsible for reviewing cost centre transactional postings and ensure variances to budget are reviewed and explained and any amendments are processed.
Responsible for preparation of weekly group cash flow forecast.
Implementation of improvement projects as assigned from time to time.
Other Duties
Assist the Group Financial Controller with the preparation of the Group consolidated accounts. These to include P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, with narrative comparisons with Budget and Prior Year for the month and YTD.
Assist the Group Financial Controller to maintain a monthly rolling forecast of the full year outturn for the Group.
Assist the Group Financial Controller with the preparation of the Group annual budget, in conjunction with the Divisional Finance Directors and the CFO for Group Services and PLC costs.
Assist Group Financial Controller with maintaining adequate financial control throughout the financial and operational processes within the share services teams.
Where identified to be responsible for improvement projects for the group reporting and share services.
Assist Group Financial Controller in daily tasks as required from time to time.
Skills & Abilities
Currently studying for recognised accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA or ACA)
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior staff.
Process oriented with some experience in working on improvements projects.
Proactive attitude towards problem solving.
Experience with working ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle, etc)
Excellent Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
Organisational, planning and time management skills.
Good communication, organisational and staff management skills.
Ability to set and achieve high standard
Attention to detail.
Demonstrate high levels of commitment and enthusiasm.
Ensures a high and consistent standard of financial reporting is maintained.
Needs to demonstrate self confidence and presence.
