Finance Business Analyst - London, London
Responsible for the implementation of process improvements across the Finance Function of listed entity operating in the Lloyd’s market. The role will be heavily involved in the development of better management information reports, the redesign of procedures, the implementation of IT systems and the improvement of the overall structure of internal controls. Once significant improvements are achieved, the role will evolve into a managerial position within the Finance Department.
MAIN DUTIES
Implementation of end to end operational improvements, through an active participation and management in various cases of various projects across the Finance function as a whole, including:
Redesign of end to end procedures to processes insurance and non insurance information, in order to reduce reporting timeframes to a minimum.
Implementation of detailed timetables and KPI
Development of the accounting package to ensure optimal use of all capabilities and interaction with other IT systems.
Design and implementation of work programmes and checklists, in order to help the technical development of more junior staff.
Development of procedure manuals.
Development of management information reports, analytical reviews and written explanations accompanying the quarterly statutory reports, in order to enable management to understand and challenge the figures being reported.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Essential
Overall very good IT skills, with the ability to pick up new IT software quickly.
Very good verbal and written reporting skills
Good accounting skills
Desirable
Knowledge of Dynamics packages,
Working knowledge of Lloyd’s accounting rules.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
CIMA / ACCA / CA - At least 3 years PQE
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Essential
Demonstrable experience in process improvements and systems (both IT and procedural) implementation.
Implementation of accounting packages.
Project management experience at a senior level.
Exposure to assessment and implementation of controls and procedures.
Desirable
Exposure to reporting activities to senior management committees.

Able to deliver results under tight deadlines, showing flexibility when required.
Strong sense of accountability and ownership of the work assigned.
Emphasis on quality of the outputs produced.
