Job Title:
Underwriting Assistant Motor Fleet - Ilford
Purpose of the Job:
Providing general and administrative support to the Underwriters activities, ensuring the smooth running of the Motor Fleet team.
Principal Accountabilities:
Filing on a daily basis, re-organising the filing system when necessary and preparing files to be sent to storage for disposal.
Producing renewal reports from the I90 system once a month and distributing to the appropriate Underwriter.
Investigating policies due for renewal, identifying issues and escalating where necessary.
Liaising with the broker to resolve outstanding issues with renewals and if necessary liaising with the Claims department to obtain claim information.
Collecting and distributing faxes to the appropriate team member.
Prepare files for auditing, alongside Fleet Manager.
Issuing claims experiences on lapsed policies in conjunction with the Fleet Manager.
Calculating premiums on adjustments received and processing the additional or return premiums on the I90 system, together with any supplementary endorsements that need to be issued.
Ensuring that vehicle declarations are received within the required time span and updating the spreadsheet.
Liaising with the broker when vehicle declarations are overdue to chase outstanding documents.
Answering ad-hoc broker queries over the telephone.

Good standard of education including GSCE (or equivalent) in Maths & English
The ability to communicate effectively both verbally & in writing
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Good database data-entry skills
Attention to detail and good organisational skills
The ability to work in a team environment
The ability to work under pressure
An enthusiastic and reliable working style
Previous Office administration experience is essential
