ROLE – Reporting to the group managing director, the Financial Controller is responsible for the management and co-ordination of the finance and accountancy function throughout the Group. To achieve optimum efficiency for all processes and systems with a view to Company growth and consolidation of accounting processes between centres. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management of Accounts Department – training and supervision of 6 staff members between Edinburgh and London centres
Responsible for all aspects of financial management, deadlines and projects
Strategic Financial Planning
Preparation of statutory accounts and statutory returns
Preparation of monthly management accounts, budget preparation and planning
Cashflow projections and forecasting
Ensuring adherence to rigid recording and reporting procedures
Management of Purchase Ledger function Management of Credit Control department
Prepare and interpret financial and statistical information
PERSON (higher weighting more important)
10 - Strong experience in financial accountancy role within service sector
10 - Proven track record in a supervisory role within accounts environment, working a team towards set goals.
10 - Strong financial accounting background
10 - IT Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and, ideally, accountancy specific software, i.e. Sage, SAP.
10 - Qualifications - minimum part-qualified accountant, ideally chartered accountant
9 - Ability to prioritise work within tight timeframes.
9 - Hands-on, accountable, objective, flexible, proactive, can deal with ambiguity, team-player and stress tolerant
9 - Accurate, data-driven, logical, and analytical
