Accounts Clerk/Credit Control - Swindon, Wiltshire
Our client based in the centre of Swindon is looking for an Accounts Clerk to join their team as soon as possible.
Key Objectives:
* Handling insurance accounts as allocated by the line manager.
* Ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with FSA and any other regulatory requirements.
* Ensuring that accounting functions and administration are carried out in accordance with departmental and Group instructions.
* Providing efficient and polite assistance for customers.
* Liaising with operating division(s) and other administrative departments as required.
* Achieving personal and departmental targets, as specified by divisional management, in order to meet the needs of the business
General Duties & Tasks
* Effecting credit control processes, through use of telephone, facsimile, e-mail, and letter as appropriate.
* Maintaining an accurate set of accounts and files, reflecting the current financial position on a continual basis, through reconciliation and administration.
* Assisting less senior colleagues when required.
* Dealing with enquiries from customers and ensuring a satisfactory conclusion is reached.
* Administration of cash paid and received and accompanying documentation.
* Various office duties as required, including filing, photocopying etc.
Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role
Essential Skills & Experience
Essential -
* Previous experience in Credit Control
* Confident and effective telephone skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Working knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
Desirable -
* Previous office experience
* Experience of working as part of a team
* Assisting colleagues in query solving
