Our client is a large US and global insurance company that currently offers investment and pension products in the UK. Hartford Life Limited is now seeking a Product Director for onshore bonds & investments at the company’s Canary Wharf offices in London.
Purpose
An exciting opportunity to enter a leadership role to create and manage product within a highly established global financial services organisation. We are looking for a unique individual experienced in investment product creation, implementation, research, and competitive intelligence. This position will lead the company in creating unit-linked investment bonds (onshore).
Principal Accountabilities
Develop in-depth knowledge of the market dynamics affecting distribution of our products including competitive and distributor intelligence as well as a sound understanding of various factors that impact our pricing and fund partners. Direct various product development, implementation and maintenance processes. The position will interact regularly with various sections of the company in Europe, including the Actuarial and Corporate areas.
Responsibilities
Formulate the strategy for the Investment Bond (onshore) product line in the UK and lead the development and design of new products in this area.
Direct the company’s overall strategy in investment fund offerings.
Work effectively with the product development team based in Dublin, London and the US to maximise successful product design and delivery.
Work effectively with external business partners & stakeholders.
Build and enhance relationships with key distribution partners’ product / research teams on an on-going basis.
Assist Key Account Teams to secure panel positions.
Manage a growing team and select and recruit new staff as required.
Candidate Specification
Bachelors or equivalent educational degree required
At least 5 years experience required in senior product role in the UK life/investments industry; 10 preferred.
Strong technical and analytical skills
Creativity in product ideas
Strong leadership and management capabilities
Strong entrepreneurial spirit
Self starter with strong time management skills,
Ability to handle shifting priorities
Ability to work in and lead a team environment,
Strong communications and organisation skills
