An excellent opportunity for a Structural Design Managing to work for one of the top Foundation Companies in the UK, based in Middlewich, Cheshire.
Our client, one of the top foundation companies in the UK, is looking for a Structural Design Engineer. They offer an extensive range of quality foundation products and solutions. Foundation engineering projects undertaken by our client range in value from £1000 to £10m.
You will be able to work independently with a practical and commercial approach to the production of reinforced pre-cast concrete designs, from initial concept through to completion. Typical type of work included the design of retaining walls, floor slabs, beams, flat panel construction, industrial wall systems, fire dividing walls, lift pits and modular building systems.
You must be either RICS chartered, or have 5 years reinforced concrete experience, in accordance with their insurers requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Upon receipt of new projects from the sales team establish within the package of the information key design elements and undertake design calculations in accordance with current British Standards and other relevant codes of practice.
Liase with clients, engineers, architects and contractors to ensure their requirements are met whilst producing the most economical design possible.
Undertake design works within the scope of the CDM regulations ensuring that all elements of the design can be safely erected and fixed on site.
Liaison with the drawing office manager and members of the drawing office to ensure that they correctly interpret the design whilst producing drawings.
Carry out checking of general arrangement and R.C. detail drawings.
To keep the relevant contract manager informed of the progress on design work and report any problems.
To ensure that designs are produced in accordance with Company procedures and documents
Carry out checking of designs by other department members
