Pensions Administrator - Bedfordshire
Superb opportunity to join the in-house pensions department of a leading organisation operating in the Leisure industry.
Reporting to the Pensions Administration Supervisor, you will provide an excellent administration service, promoting the understanding of the scheme to its members, prospective members, the Human Resources department and the payroll department.
Ensuring efficient cradle to grave administration, you will be responsible for leavers, transfers-in, transfers-out, retirements, deaths, joiners, contributions and AVCs. You will identify and process all the complex leaving service calculations, obtaining and checking data, calculating leaving service benefits, communicating these benefits to members and updating the administration system with this information. Preparing transfer in and transfer out quotations for members, processing up to and including receipt of payment, you will communicate this information to members.
You will provide and communicate all forms of retirement benefit quotations to the Human Resources department/member as appropriate, obtaining details to establish a pensioner on the pensioner payroll. Provide all forms of death benefit quotation, preparing background paper for consideration by Trustees’.
You will be responsible for dealing with Contributions and AVCs, checking that the correct contributions have been made, DC and AVC records are maintained and passed to investment managers and providing payroll with authorised DC and AVC instructions.
Further responsibilities include checking colleagues work as appropriate, assisting with annual projects such as annual update, benefit statements and pensioner increases, preparing manual benefit statements, assisting in the review and development of procedures and systems to maintain a high standard of service, setting up and maintaining spreadsheets and responding to enquiries received from members, prospective members, the company and third parties.
You will be making key decisions such as prioritising a varied and complex workload, recognising complex cases and referring to senior staff as required and determining an appropriate response to wide ranging queries from members and companies.
At this stage in your career you will have at least sound pensions experience, excellent organisational and communication skills and be a team player with a proactive and flexible approach to work.
Progress towards APMI/QPA is desirable.
