Payroll Controller - Basingstoke, Hampshire
This consultancy company on the outskirts of Basingstoke are looking for a Payroll Controller. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will have the responsibility for providing an accurate, on time payroll service to clients, taking sole responsibility of the payroll function and clients needs.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Day to day responsibility for payroll function including liaising with clients and their employees and with tax offices and contributions agencies.
Liaise with Payroll Manager to provide payroll and admin support for Companies in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Running weekly, fortnightly, lunar/periodic/4 weekly, monthly and bi-monthly payrolls.
Preparation of client reports and journals.
Completion of tax year end and P11Ds.
Good working knowledge of SMP, SPP, SAP, SSP, etc.
Good working knowledge of manual calculations.
Ensuring the efficient and timely payment of salaries, pensions, and other third party payments.
Ensuring the efficient and timely payment of tax and NI to the Inland Revenue.
Assist with processes surrounding the acquisition of new clients, this will include client visits
processing parallel runs and reconciliations
Filing, scanning and keeping records up to date after each pay run.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Previous experience within a Payroll environment essential.
Sage Payroll experience preferable.
Systems literate: MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Mail merge. Formula.
Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) enabling effective rapport with customers and colleagues.
Effective communication skills - ability to communicate at all levels, and respond well to people from different backgrounds and cultures.
First class telephone skills polite manner, customer responsive attitude.
Ability to work methodically and accurately, paying attention to detail.
Smart, presentable appearance, commensurate with professional image.
Full driving licence and car owner.
