The Compensation Team leader will be responsible for ensuring that My clients compensation is paying the right amount to the right person at the right time. This will involve the management of the compensation team (which may be outsourced) to meet this objective and to ensure that necessary controls and procedures are in place to provide the board of the My clients that compensation payments are being paid in accordance with the legislation, and that records supporting these, or future payments are being accurately and completely maintained.
The Compensation Team Leader reports to the Director of Operations and is a key member of the management team with overall responsibility for managing the quality, consistency and communication.
The My clients is a new organisation which will evolve as experience and activity grows, therefore all staff will be required to assist in building the organisation and shaping the processes and procedures. Below is a list of typical responsibilities for this role and these may develop as processes evolve.
Responsibilities, Compensation payments
This is a hands on operational role which:
Supports the Director of Operations in identifying, implementing and managing and measuring the KPIs associated with the compensation payment process;
Ensures that the team pay compensation to all claimants in accordance with the agreed requirements on one set date, per month in advance;
Reviews processes and procedures to identify efficiencies, savings and improvements in the administration function;
Manages the work activities of the compensation payment administration team ensuring efficient delivery of the compensation service;
Liaises closely with the manager of the outsourced payment compensation team assisting with the recruitment and performance reviews of the team (expected to spend 2-3 days off site) or
Manages the compensation payment administration team (in-house) ensuring efficient delivery of the compensation service;
Compensation Queries
Management of Transition of Pension Schemes to the Administration service provider
In bringing schemes into the fund, works with assessment team, trustees and transitional team to ensure the smooth transfer of all records into the Pension Protection Fund;
Works closely with the Head of Legal Services to manage any contractual obligations with regard to the schemes advisors and / or puts in place interim / new contracts as appropriate;
Works closely with the assessment team, the scheme trustees and their advisors, the Actuary and the Asset Manager to gain an early view of the likely impact of a new scheme entering the My clientsand its impact on future activity.
Performance Reporting
Participates in the strategic development of the service offering;
Reviews the compliance of administration processes against the current service level agreements to ensure any deviations are highlighted and addressed ;
Participates in the process of monthly and quarterly reporting on administrator service matters;
Draws conclusions and presents recommendations to the Director of Operations.
