Job Title:SSAS Administrator
Description:SSAS Administrator - Old Trafford, Greater Manchester My client a leading and award winning TPA based in Manchester are urgently looking for a SSAS Administrator/ Senior SSAS Administrator to work in the busy office within a small team: 1. Purpose/Context of the Role1.1 To work within a small team of SSAS Administrators taking responsibility for all aspects of scheme administration covering a specifically named portfolio of typically between 50 and 100 schemes. To liaise with clients, colleagues and connections in writing, by telephone and face to face.To ensure that all contact puts forward a professional and positive image of both the company and yourself, ensuring that all matters are dealt with accurately and promptly. All issues arising which demonstrate any dissatisfaction to be referred to the team manager immediately.Funding and ContributionsTo understand the fundamental principles of SSAS funding as laid down in IR 12. To understand the difference and reasons behind Ordinary Annual Contributions and Special Contributions. To understand how to offer information relating to salary changes and its impact on funding calculations. To be familiar with how to deal with retained benefits and their impact on funding coupled with the difference and applicability of both concurrent benefits and agreeable benefits.Scheme BorrowingTo understand how to calculate the maximum borrowing which can be taken out by a scheme. To understand the purposes for which borrowing can be used and the applicability of the sole purpose test. To understand how to calculate the net asset value of the scheme for borrowing purposes including the disallowance of certain funds in respect of members in receipt of benefits. To appreciate the practical scheme limitations on borrowing in terms of ability to repay in accordance with the lenders requirementsTo understand the basis of the purpose of loans for the beneficiary of the loan and the restrictions applied by the Inland Revenue.To be aware of the commercial constraints on loans and the repercussions of making injudicious loans.To be able to consider the wider picture and how providing a loan in the short term can impact in the medium and longer term in relation to, for example, the provision of immediate retirement benefits or transfers.2.3 Behaviours to Display2.3.1 ProfessionalismTo show a positive, flexible and professional outlook to all those who come into contact with you.2.3.2 CuriosityTo be inquisitive and seek out information, facts and theories in order to broaden your knowledge of both generic and member specific issues.2.3.3 PrecisionTo work with a keen eye for detail.
