Position is responsible for performing all technical accounting research. Responsibilities include assessing the financial and reporting implications of recently issued or proposed accounting standards and Securities and Exchange Commission, Federal Housing Finance Board and other relevant regulations. Responsibilities also include documenting critical accounting policies and estimates in accordance with Section 302 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOA) and as part of the Bank's financial disclosures and controls processes, determining the impact and preparing implementation methodologies for proposed accounting treatments, and defending the proposed positions with the external auditors for all new products and financial instruments being considered such as derivatives and hedging transactions.
Qualified candidates will possess a business degree, with an emphasis in accounting, CPA required and minimum eight years experience with at least three year in public accounting and an additional three years experience in technical accounting research. Excellent customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task, work independently and meet strict deadlines required.
